I am a software engineer.

This is the first blog post I have ever written.

I am Retzam a software engineer, and for the last couple of years, I have been fascinated by the progress being made in the field of AI. I have worked with AI a few times in my career; for a chatbot using IBM Watson, computer vision for reading QR codes and text, and even contributed to Unify a promising AI open-source company among others.

This blog would be an extensive and hopefully exhaustive journey into AI. This would be a series that'll span a few months or more... we'll see. I started this because I want to learn too and as the saying goes: We teach best what we most need to learn.

This blog is for tech enthusiasts, software engineers, and everyone in between. AI is here to stay. There would be technical details that are optional for those who want to delve deeper, but generally, it would be non-software-engineer friendly.

This series would be based on these philosophies;

  1. Less is more (simple is better than complex)

  2. Move fast in slow motion

  3. Nothing is difficult everything is a challenge.

I hope you learn something in the course of this series to; leverage at work, think of new opportunities, try a new career path, see things in a better light, grow your knowledge, etc.

AI is coming to render a lot of jobs and industries obsolete but in turn, create new opportunities. I hope this blog helps us to be where those opportunities would be.

We'll talk about AI technologies that power the Rabbit R1, OpenAI's: ChatGPT and Sora, Google's: Gemini and Assistant, Humane's AI pin, Boston Dynamic's Spot, Apple's Vision OS, etc. So stay tuned!

The AI series would be a Monday weekly.

I have up to this point not defined what AI means intentionally. We'll talk about it in the next post, Introduction to AI.

Here is a mindmap of the series for your perusal. Gear up, let's run!
